We move to identify, equip and release women serving in ministry, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to participate more effectively in building up the Kingdom of God through the Church in East and Southeast Asia.
About
Women in Ministry is a ministry under Asian Access that serves women leaders in East and Southeast Asia by providing transformational leadership training in three main areas: Spiritual Formation, Leadership, and Missions. We meet in selected cohorts creating a learning community to foster growth both as a disciple of Christ and as a leader.

History

Women in Ministry (WIM) is a ministry under Asian Access (www.asianaccess.org) that serves ministry leaders in East and SouthEast Asia. It is a highly relational program to develop leadership skills among women leaders.
Women in Ministry began in 2007 with a leadership team which emerged from a highly committed Bible study group of women who had met for three years prior and understood the need for extending the kind of fellowship and teaching they had shared. This training program developed in East Asia through relationships with more than 60 house church pastors who graduated from Asian Access training since 2002. Since then, Women in Ministry continues to grow organically out of relationships, already having expanded to two more countries.
100 Reasons
“I traveled extensively by air and bus. I have been serving in a very remote mountainous area for many years. I have weathered through many trials and challenges running a school for underprivileged children of a certain people group. I even witnessed beatings by those in opposition to the Christian faith and nearly faced death myself. It was far, but I knew it would be worth it.”
(Missionary)
“I’d been wanting to have and be a part of something like this for a long time- mainly because as a pastor’s wife I couldn’t find a friend who was in the ‘same boat.’ This meeting was a blessing. Thank you for being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and organizing this for us.”
(Participant)
“The beginning class about spiritual formation was very simple, easy to learn, and understand. Thank God I am able to have discipline in my life much more than before. The last class about leadership were an eye opener for me in many areas. I definitely shared these with my team.”
(Church Leader)
“I would like to end by saying that this program has been a God intended one. It has come at the right moment of my life. I am so blessed and overwhelmed by the prayers and prophetic words too.
It is an affirmation of God’s wonderful love.”
(Participant)
“I was involved in different areas of ministry like counselling, leading worship, inner healing and deliverance, teaching and speaking at conferences when I started my journey with WIM.
Going through this journey has made me more composed, focused and efficient.”
(Pastor)
“Every time we met I learned how to tend my own garden, prune the unwanted stuff which hinders my growth and try to bear fruit for the glory of the Lord. The teachings that I have received have undoubtedly made me stronger and bolder to be an effective witness for the Lord.”
(Participant)
“The life sharing exercise taught me to introspect and understand how during the most painful times of my life I had drawn closer to God. I was much encouraged through meaningful friendship bonds I have developed during this program which I hope would last a lifetime. It was also a great opportunity of learning from other people’s testimonies and sharing.”
(Participant)
“This training has been a tremendous blessing in my life. It came when I was going through the most difficult phase of my life, spiritually, financially and mentally. I’m so indebted to God almighty and WIM for investing in me.”
(Participant)
“I found each and every session so powerful that God spoke to me very personally through every session. Now I am enjoying my walk with the Lord closer than before. I understand my heart’s condition and have learned to connect it to the Lord. I also understand more deeply what the Lord wants to speak to me through the particular season of my life.”
(Participant)
“Being a woman in ministry and in leadership, the sessions of Spiritual Leadership helped me to learn how to be an effective leader by modelling the way and to have vision for the ministry as well as for the family.”
(Participant)
“Right from the first seminar the Lord started replenishing me. God’s Word through the speakers was just what I needed. I cannot say that enough, but I literally drank every word shared by the speaker. The Lord knew what I needed and He filled me and satisfied me. The memory of wonderful times of laughter with other sisters in Christ will remain etched on my mind.”
(Participant)
“The cross cultural setting of our ministry poses a lot of leadership challenges, disappointments and difficulties. This seminar was especially helpful because it gave me perspective of what God expected me to be. There were some solid thought provoking ideas presented that helped me to reflect on how I was leading the teachers at my school.”
(Participant)
“I appreciate the efforts of Asian Access in travelling to my country and bringing the best women to speak into our lives.”
(Participant)
“This program is designed in such a way that it would help the women in ministry. This program offered me a lot of personal care and rest. The beautiful part of these initiatives is that everyone understands each other. This is a place where I could confidently say that I was not being judged. All are on the same page who understand the pain in ministry. This taught me I don't need a man's ability to be in ministry. Especially the situation in my country where there is still problems and restrictions for women in ministry, through this I got a lot of confidence in the ministry.”
(Participant)
“When she ministered, she shared how she prayed for her unbelieving mother which encouraged me to again pray for my mother. I accepted Jesus 19 years back but my parents and my sisters are away from God. That gave me the strength to pray again for my mother and within two months, God gave me an opportunity to minister to my mother. She is experiencing healing and deliverance which was a miracle in my life. Praise God for all the aspects that I am learning and applying in my life.”
(Participant)
“Perhaps the most important aspect of the report is on the individual ladies – that is our passion – their growth in intimacy with Christ.”
(Pat, Spiritual Formation Faculty)
“I am amazed at how close the ladies got over a short period of time.”
(Mei, Lecturer on Counseling)
“WIM came to so many of the ladies at the perfect time.”
(Anita, WIM National Coordinator)
“I appreciated how the presenters related to each other. I am very curious as to how they do that! Their sharing – life on life – was very impactful.”
(Participant)
“I heard individually from the women regarding how God has been working in them and sensed that there has been a movement in what they have each taken from these retreats.”
(Faculty)
“My life with the Lord has changed because of silence and solitude.
I now try to do this once a week.”
(Participant)
“I have grown in my understanding of my husband and have come to accept him.
Now he has begun to change also.”
(Participant)
“We want to be with each other and this new class has given the impetus for fellowship outside our individual communities.”
(Participant)
A quote often attributed to Borden became one of the highlights of our time together: No Reserve. No Retreat. No Regrets. I could only mention just a few whom (like Jim Elliot) threw their lives away. She commented, “So, in the eyes of the world, they are fools.” Yes!”
(Mission Faculty)
“My husband was jailed for 40 days after the Lausanne Congress III, and at that time this was very difficult to understand. After hearing her talk, I now saw this in a completely different light, a higher perspective. I know somehow that the Lord had healed me.”
(Participant)
“A wonderful experience of growing and being nurtured which has been divinely ordained by God in such perfect timing. It helped me to look at many things in a different perspective. It helped me in leadership to deal things in a different way.”
(Participant)
“Every time I return to this place, I see how much the Lord has changed the ladies. I am not crediting our program but giving thanks and glory to God that we can be part of these precious ladies’ transformation from glory to glory.”
(Faculty)
Prayer
“Prayer lays hold of God’s plan and becomes the link between His will and its accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer.”
Elizabeth Elliot
Prayer partnership plays a key role in what we are about. WIM has been given the privilege to partner with God to serve women leaders in Asia with training in leadership and Christian formation, but we acknowledge that anything God wants done must first be bathed and birthed in prayer.
Our desire is to connect each participant in the WIM program with a committed intercessor who would stand in the gap and cover her during the course of the program. We also meet bimonthly on Zoom to pray for various topics within the WIM ministry. If you would like to join us, we would welcome your prayers.
If you have an interest in being a prayer partner for one of these precious sisters in Asia, please contact Lori Snuggs at Lorisnuggs@gmail.com
Come and make an impact for God’s Kingdom in Asia by joining us in this prayer partnership ministry!
